Jaclyn Mosing is an American painter whose spiritually themed artwork has been exhibited in numerous galleries and exhibitions in the United States and around the globe.
Born in Lafayette, Louisiana, Mosing was raised in the Catholic Church--an institution which continues to serve as an endless source of artistic inspiration. Guided by the belief that the holy scriptures are as relevant today as ever, Mosing has devoted her artistic pursuits to relating ancient texts to the modern person. Through technical virtuosity, she devises highly allegorical compositions, which evoke a sense of tangibility to passages that are thousands of years old.
Following her first solo exhibition at the age of 18, she enrolled in the Savannah College of Art and Design, and received her Bachelor’s Degree in Painting, with a Minor in Drawing. During her time at SCAD, she also attended the Yale University Summer Art School, and studied under Norm Paris, Sam Messer and Kathy Kuharic. After having spent the year following graduation to study psychology at Armstrong Atlantic State University, she currently attends the Art Therapy Graduate Program at Florida State University.
Mosing is a member of the Foundation for Sacred Arts, and her work has appeared in several publications, including multiple covers of
Dappled Things Magazine. In 2008, two of her pieces were included in the
Redeeming Beauty exhibition, which toured many cities throughout the country, beginning with Washington, DC. In 2007, Mosing founded the highly successful Non-Profit Organization,
Sacred Spaces. This series of installation work has been displayed in locations as varied as Paris, France, Dublin, Ireland, and Beijing, China.
